School of Visual and Performing Arts - Academy of Production and Managerial Arts
Technical Theatre students are responsible for all technical elements of productions that take place at Santa Susana High School. Students work with industry professionals to create and implement light, sound, costume, set, prop, hair, and makeup designs. Students work across three different performance venues on campus in addition to outdoor "pop up" performances. Our venues are equipped with industry standard equipment that is constantly being updated.
Some of our equipment and workspaces include: Lighting- GrandMa on PC, ETC Ion, Whole Hog on PC Sound- Yamaha QL5, Yamaha LS9, Shure ULXD, Qlab Costuming- Fully equipped costume shop with large costume inventory Rigging- PAC is equipped with a counterbalance rigging system including 23 line sets. Scene Shop- Fully equipped scene shop including table saw, mitre saw, drills, impact drivers, and much more. Joining Technical TheatreA limited number of incoming 9th grade students are admitted each year. Students should request an interview by February 27th. Current students should talk with their counselors about joining the class.
